It looks like that the residents of the city of Cedar Rapids may have to evacuate. According to the latest reports, local crews are working around the clock to try and stop the river from flooding the city. However, there’s a limit to what they can do at this point.

The Cedar Rapids city officials are trying to do the prudent thing here by warning the residents of the possible dangers and suggest that leaving might be a good option right now. The city is passing around fliers around the local neighborhood to keep residents abreast with the situation, along with recommended safety measures. The warning indicates that an evacuation may be imminent in the next couple of days.

The Cedar Rapids city stresses that these notices are not mandatory evacuation orders. However, if the water level rises to a potentially dangerous level, city officials are left with no other choice than to order the evacuation of Cedar Rapids.
