As you all undoubtedly know, M.Night Shyamalan busted in onto the scene with his epic blockbuster The Sixth Sense, starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osmont. I think we can all agree that that movie was really good. He followed that up with a very well written script in Unbreakable. Again starring Bruce Willis, but this time opposite Samuel Jackson. Unbreakable had a very good premise to it. The only complaint I have with it is it’s lengthy and sometimes almost boring scenes. To me, it was still positive all around.

Next up was Signs, which to me a big letdown. It starts out very well and has a great build up. Unfortunately, it tries to wrap things up in an effort that just doesn’t make sense. Spoiler Alert for those who haven’t seen Signs. Stop reading or know how it ends.

You’ve been warned. In the end, Signs revealed the alien. A stupid one at that. The weakness? Water. Ooh.. how cool that it ties into the glasses of water that Mel Gibson’s daughter in the movie has been laying out around the house!?!? What kind of alien, that can travel across space, terrorize inhabitants of a planet that is 75 percent water? You’d think it’d be a lot harder to get rid of them or at least perhaps they’d have thought of something to protect themselves from the water.

I gave up at that point and swore off Shyamalan movies. Yep, I skipped The Village and Lady in the Water. Now, I plan on skipping The Happening. If anyone has The Happening Spoilers, kindly post ‘em below. I’m just curious what the mystery will be this time around.

With Mayor Michael Bloomberg leading the polls at 30%, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani is close behind with 26%. Rounding out the polls were Democratic Governor David Paterson with 23% and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, at 15%

Another interesting section of the poll showed that 63 percent approved of the recent action to increase cigarette taxes — effectively making New York’s cigarette tax the highest in the nation.

The Cedar Rapids city officials are trying to do the prudent thing here by warning the residents of the possible dangers and suggest that leaving might be a good option right now. The city is passing around fliers around the local neighborhood to keep residents abreast with the situation, along with recommended safety measures. The warning indicates that an evacuation may be imminent in the next couple of days.

The Cedar Rapids city stresses that these notices are not mandatory evacuation orders. However, if the water level rises to a potentially dangerous level, city officials are left with no other choice than to order the evacuation of Cedar Rapids.

It is currently unknown if the span or the railroad cars will work as a dam to back water up along the river that is situated behind it. On Tuesday evening, the railroad company had placed about 20 rail hopper cars loaded with rock. The plan was to weigh the bridge deck down and keep it in place. The hopper cars are in the river now, too, the railway reports.

Generally this type of plan works as you can already see the railroad bridge loaded with hopper cars. Theoretically, the added weight should make the water go around it instead of taking the bridge and cars with it. The other bridges around the same area are composed of heavier, and perhaps denser material which most likely stay in place.

Is it the best plan to do? Maybe, maybe not. Officials and representatives of the railroad company are on site and working on the issue.

It was a good round of Jeopardy as the winner bet a huge 9k for the second to the last answer on the board, which she got right. The correct response to that one was Formula 1. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone really cared to read about it.

What made this song famous is its key role in the relationship between Rick (Humphrey Bogart) and Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman). The often misquoted line “Play It Again Sam” is from Casablanca and refers to this song which is played by Sam (Dooley Wilson).

Here’s a quick recap from last week’s episode. The setting is in Puerto Rico, as the final four chefs created a variety of pork dishes. The kicker was how they were using various parts of the whole pig. Yummy. Antonia didn’t do great as she fell was finally kicked off. That leaves us with 3: Richard, Stephanie and Lisa. Only one of these three will be crowned Top Chef. Bravo has also announced a reunion episode set for the week after. That’s good news for all you Top Chef fans.

In the season’s opener, Mary Louise Parker’s character Nancy has relocated close to the border in search of a new life. Unfortunately, she soon realizes that her past cannot be escaped. Both her problems and people follow her on her new adventure. Based on the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be a great start to the season.

The first episode of season 2 is entitled “The Transitioning.” PJ’s mystery man is revealed and Stephanie is shocked leaving their vacation a bit on a downer. Meanwhile, back in Chicago, the boys go through changes professionally and socially.

Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) is also set to guest star this season. The rest of the cast include: Jim Gaffigan, Kyle Howard, Kellee Stewart, Jamie Kaler, Reid Scott, and Michael Bunin.

The page scans are pretty touch to read since the handwriting is party cursive. It took me a while to decipher a couple of words before typing up that small paragraph to quote the Harry Potter Prequel. It would be nice if someone who can clearly read it type it up nice and neat for the rest of us to read. I decided to strain my eyes and just read off the scans. The story is about James Potter and Sirius Black and takes place about 3 years before Harry was born.
